Trae Vaughan

Trae came to BIA in July 2009 from Travelers Insurance Company, where he specialized in Contractor's Insurance and Risk Management. Trae graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.A. in Risk Management and Insurance. He is involved with various industry and charitable organizations, such as the Associated General Contractors, the Home Builders Association, the Independent Insurance Agents of America, LAUNCH Chattanooga and was a recent chairman of the Boys and Girls Club of Chattanooga.
With his Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation, He dedicates much of his time serving the insurance and bond needs of Contractors, Real Estate Developers and other Middle Market companies in need of high levels of service. He also leads BIA’s Captive Management & Consulting practice, where’s he taken a keen interest in helping his clients navigate the benefits of alternative risk financing.
In 2017 he developed the Southern Shield Captive Insurance Company.
In 2018 recognized as one of the nation’s top producers by Insurance Journal Magazine.
Trae resides in North Chattanooga with his wife Michelle and children, Ford, Bob, Catherine and Harry. He is a member of St.Paul’s Episcopal Church.
